Step-by-Step Installation Guide

Overview
PartyBoard by zeranemesis is a native port of Nintendo and Hudson Soft's 2002 GameCube party game Mario Party 4, built on the game's decompilation rather than an emulator (rendering through Aurora). It runs on PC, Android phones and standalone on Meta Quest, where the game is shown in mixed reality: the board stands on your real table through passthrough and stays where you placed it, thanks to a spatial anchor and the headset's room scan.
Install type: APK + your own game files. You pick your disc image on first launch with Android's file picker.
[!IMPORTANT] No game data is included. The repository contains no game assets or assembly. You need your own Mario Party 4 disc image: USA
GMPE01rev 0 or rev 1, or EuropeGMPP01(English, French, German, Spanish or Italian), as.iso,.rvz,.wiaor.gcz. The JapaneseGMPJ01disc is recognised but not supported yet. The image is checked by hash before launch. Fan project, not affiliated with Nintendo, Hudson Soft or Meta.
[!NOTE] Beta (prerelease). v0.20.0 (October 16, 2026). It's mixed reality, not full VR. The 3D diorama is experimental: the README says it is not yet a complete conversion of all boards and minigames, menus, text and some scenes stay on the original flat screen behind it, and there's no real-world occlusion. The same APK runs on Meta Quest 3, 3S, 2 and Pro.
Highlights:
- The board on your real table in stereo 3D, placed with a spatial anchor so it stays there between sessions; Quest 3 finds tables from the room scan (on Quest 2 you draw them in Space Setup).
- Minigames on the table or on the board's screen (left grip), and room visibility toggle (X).
- Live resolution presets on Y: 1080p, 1440p or 4K, with frame rates from 72 to 120 Hz.
- Touch controllers act as a GameCube pad with rumble; a Bluetooth gamepad also works.
- The Party Board menu: settings, RetroAchievements (softcore), speedrun mode and unlock-all options, and an update check at startup.
Prerequisites
- A Meta Quest 3, 3S, 2 or Pro with Developer Mode enabled.
- Your Mario Party 4 disc image (USA GMPE01 rev 0/1 or Europe GMPP01).
- SideQuest or ADB on a computer.
- Optional: Space Setup (room scan) so the game can find your table; it asks for the "spatial data" permission when table calibration opens.
Step-by-Step Installation
1. Install the APK
Download PartyBoard-v0.20.0-quest-arm64-v8a.apk via 1-click on QuestPorts or from GitHub Releases (use the quest APK). With the headset plugged in and Developer Mode on, install it with SideQuest or:
adb install -r PartyBoard-v0.20.0-quest-arm64-v8a.apk
2. Copy your disc image
Put your disc image on the headset, for example in Download:
adb push "Mario Party 4 (USA).iso" /sdcard/Download/
3. First launch
- Open Party Board from Library > Unknown Sources.
- Choose your disc image: Android's file picker opens as a window, and the game comes back once it is chosen.
- Before the first board or minigame, the game waits on a calibration panel: lay the right controller flat at the middle of the table, its front toward you, and press X. A opens Space Setup to scan the room, B skips calibration until the next session.
- The first start opens placement mode; afterwards, click the right thumbstick to place the board again.

Updating: the app checks for new builds at startup (Settings > Interface > Check for Updates). Press Update to see the changes and download the new APK, then open it to install over the app, keeping your saves and settings.
The disc is rejected: PartyBoard supports Mario Party 4 USA GMPE01 (rev 0 or rev 1) or Europe GMPP01 as .iso, .rvz, .wia or .gcz, checked by hash; the Japanese GMPJ01 disc is not supported yet. The game waits on a panel before a board or minigame: calibrate the table by laying the right controller flat at the middle of it and pressing X, press A to run Space Setup, or B to skip until the next session. The board is in the wrong place or the wrong size: click the right thumbstick to reopen placement mode. Some boards or minigames look flat or oddly scaled: the 3D diorama is experimental and not every scene is converted yet; the left grip moves minigames onto the board's screen. Low performance: lower the resolution with Y (1080p). An update won't install: updates must be signed with the same key; uninstalling first deletes your saves and settings. App not in the Library: look under Unknown Sources; Developer Mode must be on. Fan project, not affiliated with Nintendo, Hudson Soft or Meta; no game data is provided.
