Overview
Quest 3 Strikers by LanceSweatpants runs Super Mario Strikers (GameCube, 2005) natively on Meta Quest 3. It is not an emulator: the game is built from the community decompilation (a fork of luisxl15/Strikers-Android-Port), compiled for the headset's ARM chip and drawn into your room through OpenXR.
It is a mixed-reality / third-person experience, not first person. Switch views any time by clicking the controller sticks:
- Jumbotron · Living Room: a big flat screen floating in your real room (passthrough).
- Jumbotron · Stadium: the same screen, standing on the pitch of a life-size stadium.
- Tabletop · Living Room: the match as a miniature 3D pitch on your real table, bed or floor; walk around it, grab, turn and resize it.
- Tabletop · Stadium: the table inside the life-size stadium.
Plus 3D goal celebrations, the game's rumble on the Touch controllers and online 1v1 with four-letter room codes.
[!NOTE] No game files are included. You need your own Super Mario Strikers (GameCube) disc image:
.iso,.gcm(NKit too),.ciso,.gcz,.rvzor.wia. This is a free alpha, tested on Quest 3 (the Quest 3S has the same chip but is untested). Unofficial fan project, not affiliated with Nintendo.
Prerequisites
- Meta Quest 3 with Developer Mode enabled (Meta Horizon app → Devices → Headset settings → Developer mode, then restart).
- A PC with the SideQuest Advanced Installer and a USB-C cable.
- Your own Super Mario Strikers disc image.
Step-by-Step Installation
- Download
QuestStrikers-alpha1.2.apkfrom the official GitHub release v0.1.2-alpha1 (not the Source code files). - Plug the Quest into your PC, allow USB debugging, and drag the APK onto SideQuest.
- In SideQuest click the folder icon → Download and drag in your Super Mario Strikers
.iso,.rvzor.wia. - On the Quest: Library → All → Unknown Sources → Quest 3 Strikers → Play offline. The first time, turn on Allow access to manage all files, go back and press Play offline again.
- If you have several game files, use Choose game file on the first screen; your choice is remembered.
Updating: from alpha 1.2 the app's first screen offers Update now when a new version is out (allow it to install updates the first time). Saves and your game file are kept.
Online 1v1
One player hosts and reads out a four-letter room code, the other types it in. Both pick Grudge Match, choose teams and start. Each player keeps their own view mode. A Bluetooth gamepad paired to the headset also works for offline play.
If the app says your game file is missing or can't be used, check it is Super Mario Strikers (GameCube) and use Choose game file; every .rvz and .wia works without converting. Turn on Allow access to manage all files the first time. If the game stopped on an error, the app shows the message the next time you open it; report it on GitHub with the version shown on the first screen. Quest 3S and other headsets are untested. Free alpha: expect rough edges (see Known issues in the README).
